Dictionaries presented to Pinnacle Elementary 3rd

Student dictionaries were presented to the 3rd grade students at Pinnacle Elementary School in September by the Pinnacle Ruritan Club. This project is in partnership with the Dictionary Project started in South Carolina. |
Zacharie Jennings Spelling Bee Winner

Zacharie Jennings, winner of the Pinnacle Elementary School Spelling Bee, was presented a check by Leland Nail during Awards Day at Pinnacle School. Zacharie will have his name inscribed on the permanent Spelling Bee Winner Plaque that hangs in the Pinnacle School. Leland Nail is chairman of this project. Congratulations to Zacharie. |
News from May Meeting

At the May Ruritan Meeting the club presented a check to the Pinnacle Fire Department. This check was to purchase fire alarms and a tool kit to install them for each fire truck. This program is for those in our community who are disabled or cannot afford to install fire alarms in their homes. All they need to do is call the Pinnacle Fire Department and express a need to a fire alarm.
The club also presented a check to the Stokes County Social Services to be used for people who need gas money to go to the doctor or go to pick up medications. Janice Spencer, director of Stokes County Social Services was our guest speaker at this meeting. |

The Pinnacle Ruritan Club thanks all who supported our Annual Fund Raiser, Saturday Feb 17th. Thank you for your generous donations that will help us complete the projects we have scheduled for the 2007 year and help us support the projects of other organizations in our area. The Pinnacle Ruritan Club meets the 4th Thursday of each month except November and December (the 3rd Thursday) at the Pinnacle Boy Scout Hut. We invite you to come and help us make a difference in the Pinnacle Community.

Pinnacle Ruritans helping at Christmas

The Pinnacle Ruritan club delivered 61 Goody Baskets to people in Pinnacle during the Christmas Season. They also clothed and bought toys for 49 children in the Pinnacle Community through the Stocking to Stokes Program. |
Scholarship Winners Announced

Scholarship Program - Using funds from the Annual Fundraiser the club gives two scholarships to Seniors at West Stokes High School. Applications for these scholarships are available in the Guidance Counselor’s office at West Stokes High School. The winners of the 2007 Pinnacle Ruritan Scholarships are Jessica Marie Collins and Dylan Lee Priddy. Congratulations |
